How Elemental Astrology will Flow

Beginning with the start of the astrological year, the Vernal Equinox and the movement into the sign of Aries, we will begin our journey together. Exploring the symbols, stories, and energy dynamics of each sun sign in relation with the elements of Fire, Earth, Air, and Water, the wisdom of how these elements create the expression of each season.

Each month, on or about the time that the Earth moves into a new astrological sign and new quality of the season, we will look at the relationships of the Signs, Houses, Planets, and the Elements. Each month builds on the energetic qualities of the previous sign creating the momentum of evolution. This evolution is the same cycle of a day, a year, or a lifetime. It is the cycle of creation.

As the beauty of the forces of nature reveal themselves to you, the simplicity within that wisdom creates true understanding, and the experience does not require the tedium of memorization. As important, you will learn to work with the patterns of each sign... during the influences of that sign!

Cycle of the Four Seasons

After each lesson, moving though the world in daily life becomes the teacher. This is not so much about learning to absorb Kumu Pono's understandings of experiencing the cycles of nature. Rather, this course will help you to put it into action as an expression of life. It becomes a guiding pathway to discover your own rhythms, patterns, and cycles.

For students of our Hawaiian Energetics training, we discover the four elements and their many personalities in deeper and richer ways. This wisdom will add to the creative act of healing, spiritual growth, and the magicks of our tradition. 

What We Will Cover Each Month

We will meet one day each month for five to six hours of class with a 90-minute break for lunch.  Each class will be a blending of teachings, energetic and practical experiential work, group discussions, and time for questions and answers.  Class size is limited to a maximum of 15 participants ensuring the best opportunity to learn and receive personal guidance from kumu Pono.  Come prepared to participate, share, and be active.

  • The Qualities and Dynamics of the Current Astrological Sign
    We will study, work with, and learn to observe, each sign while that sign's influence is strongest.  More than simply "text book" knowledge, we will uncover the influential patterns at the core of each Sign to help move it from "head knowledge" into living wisdom.
  • The 12 Astrological Houses
    What they are, why they are important to us as healers and spiritual seekers, and how they relate to that time of year.
  • The Planetary Influences
    Each astrological sign has a major planetary influence.  Through the symbolism hidden in the legends, these influences take on real and applicable meaning.  We will learn to experience these influences for ourselves to build a personal relationship with each.
  • The Elemental Forces
    Each sign of the zodiac is the embodiment of a particular quality of an element (Fire, Air, Water, and Earth).  Each of the four elements has many layers of personalities, qualities, and influences.  We will work with the dominant energy of the season to expand our depths of understanding of how they create the seasons and how we can partner with them for the greatest harmony for health, healing, and creation.
  • Experiential and Hands-On Practices
    You will engage with experiential exercises, hands-on practices, and recommended at-home practices to further solidify your relationship with the energies.

This course has been created with students of our Hawaiian Energetics Training in mind as an extension of the knowledge and proficiency working with the elements. However, this course is open to anyone interested in a different perspective of astrology, building a deeper relationship with nature and the natural cycles, and health and healing.

You have three options for attending this course series! You can attend in person in our Fuquay-Varina space in North Carolina (Suburb of Raleigh). If you prefer, you may attend and actively participate in the course live via Zoom video conference service. And, you can also choose to attend some classes in-person and some classes online.  As a last option, if you have to miss a class, the month's class will be recorded and available for you to review during the month in which the Zodiac sign is active.

Each month's course will be recorded through the video conference. If you are unable to attend a course segment, you will have access to the recording to review the material.

Yes! The video for each class in the series will be recorded and available online for a limited time after the completion of the live class. All participants will be given access to the recordings so you can review the information we cover over the course of that month.

You will be offered suggestions for practices during the month to observe and more fully experience the dynamics of each astrological sign as a phase of nature's cycle. Some suggested practices will be out in nature and some can be done at home. These are optional and can be done as much or as little as you wish. Of course, they are strongly recommended to get the most out of each month's class and bring the concepts presented out of "theory" and into living wisdom

The short answer is no, not for this class. The National Board defines the topics it considers acceptable for massage continuing education. While we know how valuable the information presented is for those who are students of the healing arts, this topic is not an approved subject matter by the Board. Other classes we offer are approved to award CE hours for those completing the course.

This is a significant investment of time and money.  Kumu Pono will be working hard for you.  However, we want you to be more than satisfied with the quality education you receive.  If you decide this course is not for you, you can cancel your registration within the first 30 days of class for a full refund.

Registration will remain open until April 19th (the last day of Aries).  If you decide to join after the class has begun and there are still seats available, you must complete the segment: Part 1 - Aries & the Element of Fire before the Part 2 - Taurus & the Element of Earth class.  Otherwise, you will be able to sign up for our "Interested/Waiting" contact list for a 2023 course series.

The course is limited to 24 seats to permit the best environment for learning this very personal journey.  If all 24 seats have been taken, we will provide a "Interested/Waiting List" form to sign up to be notified.  If a seat opens due to a last minute cancellation, the waiting list group will be contacted and the seat is available on a first come, first served basis.
