Workshop - Traditional Ho'oponopono Training

Traditional Ho'oponopono Training
The Hawaiian Healing Art of Forgiveness
      and Emotional & Spiritual Cleansing

Learn the Halawa Valley Style Ho'oponopono as passed through 51 verifiable generations of Kumu on the Island of Moloka’i

This is a rare training opportunity to learn the old ways of true forgiveness, spiritual and emotional cleansing, and conflict resolution - Molokai style. This practice has been passed orally through a respected family lineage who have lived in the valley for centuries.

Ho'oponopono on a simple level translates as “to make it right”, and it is the Hawaiian way of clearing the burdens of our held emotions to be freed to live our lives fully.

When we allow the hurts of the past to remain unresolved (those done to us, and those we have done to others or to ourselves) the weight of those burdens can drag us down. When we live outside of our truth, we are no longer in alignment with ourselves and the Divine. The consequences of living that way are too many to count.

In this 3-day (plus Friday evening) training, we will look deeply into ourselves as a necessary first step to seeing clearly.  Only then, can we hold the space for others to look inward for themselves with clarity and honesty. We will learn the traditional process as it has been practiced in Halawa Valley for more than 2,000 years. It is the True Path of Living in Aloha.

This training is in the traditional style of Ho'oponopono.

It is not the modernized and popular interpretation based in a mantra.

Through a blending of "talk story", understanding the culture, experiential work, self-reflection, ceremony/ritual, and hands-on practices, we will learn the foundations of understanding, along with the essential protocol for a session.

The class size is limited to 20 total participants (in-person and online combined) to permit proper supervision and guidance during the hands-on practices and time for questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

This course is recommended for those with an interest in Hawaii, Hawaiian spirituality, energy healing, and spiritual growth.  Often, individuals feel called to Hawaii, or to find a deeper relationship with nature and the heavens.

An integral part of this training is self-reflection and inner-work.  Those seeking to find resolution for themselves, or those who are seeking a way to help others to find forgiveness are encouraged to attend.  The healing and assessment skills offered as part of this training are also an excellent complimentary option for health care professionals, whether medical or natural approaches.

There are no pre-requisites and it is open to the general public.  Completion of a Hawaiian Energetics Initial Training is suggested but not required.

The 4-Day Initial Training is designed for you and your personal journey.  During this course, you will learn the foundations and the protocol for facilitating a ho'oponopono session.  The practice of ho'oponopono is a serious responsibility, and it should not be entered into lightly.  Training in the old ways was based on years of "doing" as a participant, skilled observation, and apprenticeship.  This will take time and practice to master.

Life gets busy.  We get it.  However, if you know you can't attend a portion of a class (or need to leave early), please hold off for now and catch the course next time it is offered.  This work is a serious responsibility.  Regardless of your prior education, it is essential that you complete this training in its entirety to be effective and safe.

That answer depends on the state you live in.  Every state has their own laws defining the services that require a professional licensure and those that are not regulated.  If the state does not require a license, it is possible that your local city or town will require a local license.  It will be your responsibility to know the requirements of your area.

Historically, Ho'oponopono was an integral part of daily family life, and it was also performed to resolve issues in the larger community.  In modern times, this practice falls into a gray area in our opinion.

For use with yourself and your family and friends, this will likely not be regulated (check local laws).  In some areas, this can fall into the category of "life coaching" or spiritual mentorship.

Not being attorneys, we cannot advise you about the legal requirements to include this as a service in a professional practice.

No.  This training is not approved as a CE Course.  Ho'oponopono is outside the scope of massage therapy.

The course is limited to 10 in-person and up to 20 online seats (maximum combined enrollment is 20) to permit the best environment for learning this very personal journey. If all of the seats have been taken, we will provide a "Interested/Waiting List" sign up form for those who like to be notified in the event things change. If a seat opens due to a cancellation, the waiting list group will be contacted and the seat is available on a first come, first served basis.
